PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGEDear GUFS Community,
What an incredible week we had at GUFS! Mr. Beckley kicked off our last week of school with an amazing field day. Our students had a blast, and we are so grateful for all the work he put into planning and implementing such a memorable event. I would also like to thank the PTA for providing a BBQ lunch for all students and staff. Of course, none of this could have happened without the help of Mr. Oneto and his facilities team. They are always responsive to our building needs, and I am so grateful we have such an incredible team.
On Tuesday, we celebrated three outstanding middle school teachers for receiving the honor of tenure. Mr. Roman, Mrs. Cook, and Mrs. Valvano have all shown dedication and passion for their subjects while building strong bonds with their students. Their students are achieving greatness in and out of the classroom because of their expertise and commitment paired with each student’s drive and determination! The celebration demonstrated how thankful we are to have Mr. Roman, Mrs. Cook, and Mrs. Valvano on our GUFS team.
Of course, the festivities continued throughout the week. Our 7th and 8th-grade dance on Thursday was a night to remember! It was heartwarming for me to watch our children dance all evening. This morning, chatter about how much fun they had filled our middle school hallways!
We wrapped up our week with a moving-up ceremony for our Pre-K class. I am proud of how far our youngest learners have come this year. We thank you all for joining us for this special celebration. Our Pre-K students are ready for Kindergarten in the Fall!
We conclude the year on Monday with an early dismissal at 11:15 and our 8th grade graduation at 6:00 pm. It is hard to believe this school year has come to an end. For us, it is bittersweet as we say goodbye to our 8th graders and those few students moving out of our district. We wish you all the best and know you will be deeply missed. GUFS will always be a place that you can call home.
Our last newsletter, including important summer information, will be sent on Monday. But for now, stay tuned, and enjoy your upcoming weekend!
With Gratitude,
Allison Emig
