BOARD OF EDUCATION SEEKS COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS

TO SERVE ON BUDGET ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Garrison Union Free School District Budget Advisory Committee (BAC) operates as a sub-committee within the Finance Committee under the guidance of the Board of Education. The primary role of the BAC is to aid the Board of Education in assessing potential budget-saving options identified by the Finance Committee, with a specific focus on designated areas each school year.

For the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, the Garrison Union Free School District Board of Education is actively seeking two (2) community volunteers to join this committee. The main objective for this school year is to investigate the possibility of bringing school lunch service to the Garrison school. The volunteer committee members must possess knowledge of institutional food services procedures and business functions, dietary and/or nutritional expertise, or knowledge of the National School Lunch Program.

Areas for consideration by the advisory committee include, but are not limited to:

• Offering limited or full service school lunch

• Partnering with other school districts to offer school lunch

• Utilizing an outside consultant(s) to assist in evaluating the district’s options
