School Resource Officer (SRO)/Special Patrol Officer (SPO) Survey

Posted Date: 2/12/25 (3:06 PM)

Dear Garrison UFSD Community Member,

The Garrison UFSD Board of Education is considering including a School Resource Officer (SRO) or Special Patrol Officer (SPO) from the Putnam County Sheriff’s office in our school building as part of the 2025-2026 budget at the request of our teachers. We understand that this is a significant decision that impacts the safety, well-being, and financial planning of our school community.

To ensure we make an informed decision that reflects the views and concerns of our community, we are seeking your valuable feedback. This survey aims to gather insights from all residents within our school district on the potential benefits, drawbacks, and overall support for this initiative.  The inclusion or exclusion of an SRO or SPO in the upcoming school year will have no bearing on other programs, staffing, or budget items under consideration for the 2025-2026 school year

Your participation is crucial in helping us understand the diverse perspectives within our community. The survey should take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete. All responses are confidential. Please complete this survey by March 3, 2025.
